Photo by Riley Edwards on Unsplash Unfortunately, wildfires are wildly popular around this time of year in California. With this in mind, the conditions caused by wildfires can lead to vehicle damage if you don't take proper care of your vehicle. During June through September, there is a combination of warmer and drier weather. Fires are more prevalent in the summer and fall since there are more frequent dry and hot winds. It tends to be riskier during September as fall begins, and the leaves, branches, and other material can dry out and become highly flammable. And just the way you take care of your home and yourself during these hot seasons, you should consider taking care of your vehicle! H ... read more

Image by Lee Rosario from Pixabay Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s Supercar! Just like everyone has their favorite superhero, many have their personal favorite supercars. The most lavish and standout supercars include the McLaren 720S, the Lamborghini Huracan Evo, the Porsche 918 Spyder, and Ford’s GT. But what makes a supercar so “super”? Supercars stand out by the overall quality of design, performance, technology, and value. Sadly, many of us are quite busy this Spring and haven’t had much of an opportunity to get out. If you haven’t been driving your car much since the pandemic began, you’ll probably know there are many things you still need to do to maintain your vehicle and keep it road-safe, like recharge the battery, and checking the tire PSI. Did you know one of these things is cleaning your car? We see so many dust and pollen cars that sit like traps for the moment when their owners ... read more

Welcome to April’s blog! Here’s hoping you and the whole family have had a safe, productive, and prosperous first quarter of 2021. With Spring Rains coming, and May flowers sure to pass on pollen, and potential fires in the fall bringing ash down on our windscreens, it might be a good time to check on the health of our windshield wipers. We’re needing them more and more as Spring turns to Summer! Here are some tips about checking the road fitness of your wipers: Try cleaning them first. Perhaps with a little rubbing alcohol (a hand wipe would be idea-- remember that your wipers clean bird guano off your windshield most days) and cleaning your windshield to make certain there are no small objects or spots of tree sap getting in the path of your windshield as it goes. Alittle bit of elbow grease on older blades can be all you need for the immediate future. View them up close. If you see a lot of cracking in the rubber of the wiper, it’s time to replace th ... read more

Welcome to March! It's going to be another action-packed month in Turlock, with so much going on. Between crazy sudden snowstorms and the struggle to get COVID-19 under control, we have a lot of chaos in our lives. It would be good to be able to introduce some order. Spring will be here on March 20th, and with it comes a wave of spring cleaning as people look to remove the clutter in their homes. It's a time to simplify, refine, and reduce. It's an annual practice in our homes, but what about our cars? It makes good sense to spring clean your car. Beyond the obvious benefit of your car looking more attractive and cleaner, there are additional benefits to a clean, orderly car. It can't cure depression, but it can help to have things cleaner. An immaculate car can make you a more considerate driver, as you will want to baby your vehicle. Here are some natural next steps to getting the car spring-cleaned: Car wash. Welcome to another February! We're gearing up for Super Bowl LV in one week, and then the week after, it's Valentine's Day again in Turlock! We challenge you to bring your romantic A-game, and show the people in your life how much you care. We rarely acknowledge it, but our cars show us a great deal of love. They sit quietly, waiting for us to need them, and when we do, they really do come through. In the past year, we've leaned on them to protect us from exposure to the pandemic, and even when we hopped in our cars in a hurry and rushed off before the engine could lubricate properly, our vehicles still keep faith with us. Most people understand the importance of looking after your car. The love they put into their car is the love they get back. They don't have to question whether or not their car will pull through in a crisis because they have taken the necessary steps to ensure the best possible performance already from their vehicle. But for some, they never k ... read more

Welcome to 2021, we hope your holidays have been wonderful and joyful. As we return to our shop, the signs that greet us remind us of the lingo and terminology we use at the store, some of which might be a touch confusing. Have you often seen or heard terms bandied about in a service shop and wondered, “What does that mean?”, but smiled and nodded along? In this month’s blog, we’re exploring the meaning of ASE certification, OEM parts, and the importance of both to you, our customer. ASE is an acronym for an organization, the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence. It’s the accreditation authority for the United States in auto repairs. Not every mechanic has this certification. Many beginning mechanics start out working under the direct supervision of a ASE-certified technician. As they grow, learn the trade, and seek acceptance, they may become accredited as an ASE-certified technician themselves. (Our technicians are certified.) This is im ... read more
